Busting out of lockdown

An enthusiastic group of Victorian Psychs on Bikes celebrated the end of lockdown with a ride and social gathering on Saturday 31/7. The destination was the Ballarat Yacht Club for lunch, and a great catch up was enjoyed by 16 people, some who came by car, some who walked and a group of 7 (Roger, John, Souixz, Darren, Michelle, David and Greg) who rode from Essendon Fields in Melbourne to Ballarat. With Roger leading and yours truly as Tail End Charlie, we left at about 9am – 4 BMW’s, a V Strom, a Versys and a Street Triple.

We wound our way out through the “gorges of Melbourne’s outer north”, through Kongaderra, Riddell’s Creek, Kerrie and Gisborne to Woodend via the Black Forest Drive, then west to morning tea at Trentham, via some very greasy, muddy roads high in the Black Hills. After refreshments and a chat, we headed for Daylesford and Creswick, then on to meet the others in Ballarat.

Lunch was a great catch up, with great food and a superb lakeside outlook. Then a fairly mundane group trip back to Melbourne via the freeway – wet roads in places, but weather worthy of “Spring in July”!! Can’t wait for the next one…..
