Psychs on Bikes Returns to Walcha Motorcycle Rally for a Third Year

November 2025 saw Psychs on Bikes once again roll into Walcha for the annual Walcha Motorcycle Rally, marking our third consecutive year attending this fantastic regional event.

Thanks to the efforts of Mike Spitzer, our presence at the rally continues to grow, and this year was another wonderful example of what makes Psychs on Bikes so special. Members travelled from across the country to be there, with riders making the journey from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and even Tasmania. It's quite remarkable that a small country town can bring together people from so many corners of Australia, united by motorcycles, community, and a shared commitment to supporting mental health.

For some attendees, Walcha was their very first Psychs on Bikes event. For others, it was another chapter in a tradition they have enjoyed for years. Whether newcomers or long-time members, everyone was welcomed into the fold and experienced the camaraderie that has become a hallmark of our organisation.

As with any motorcycle adventure, the journey was part of the story. Some riders enjoyed beautiful weather and perfect riding conditions, while others faced strong winds along the way. One rider even reported having a grasshopper lead the way for part of the trip—a uniquely Australian riding companion!

Throughout the weekend, our members proudly represented Psychs on Bikes, connecting with rally attendees, undertaking free health checks, sharing information about our work through meaningful conversations around mental health and demonstrating the supportive and inclusive spirit that defines us.
